How to choose the right accounting software for your business
Price, ease of use, e-invoice, support... The 6 critical questions to ask before picking an accounting tool.
The wrong software choice costs not just money but months of time. To make the right call, ask these six questions during demos.
1. Does it fit my workflow?
Will you adapt the software to your business, or your business to the software? The former is ideal. A solution with flows built for your sector is always ahead.
2. How fast will my team adapt?
A complex interface shelves even the most powerful software. In the demo, ask: "Can one of my staff do this on their own?"
3. Are e-invoice and legal compliance ready?
e-invoice, e-archive and data-protection compliance are non-negotiable. They should be built in, not bolted on later.
4. Can I access my data anywhere?
A cloud-based solution lets you reach the same data from your phone, home, or shop. Systems locked to a single computer are a thing of the past.
5. Is there real support?
When something breaks, who's on the other end? If the answer is "no one" or "a bot", be careful.
An accessible support team that knows the work is as valuable as the software itself.
6. Is pricing transparent?
Hidden module fees, surprise per-user costs? Clarify the total cost of ownership upfront.
The decision
The solution that answers a clear "yes" to all six is your solution. Don't rush — always request a demo and try the software with your own data.
